Our Facilities

We are housed in a 13,000+ Square Foot building equipped with prototyping, testing, inspection and additive (3D printing) and subtractive manufacturing technologies to support SAVIT’s development team.

3D PRINTING

SAVIT has increasingly emphasized its importance of additive manufacturing in rapid prototyping in order to reduce cost, time and money in the earlier stages of product inspection and development.

QUALITY LAB

SAVIT’s quality lab is fully integrated into a Statistical Process Control (SPC) system. This helps to ensure that a process operates efficiently, producing more specification-conforming products with less waste (rework or scrap) and higher MRL.

SAVIT can use this software to assist the Government in reviewing TDP’s in a smart way but understanding the SPC Process capability index (Cpk) measurement and the relationship of the Six Sigma Spread to the specification limits.

METROLOGY LAB

SAVIT’s in-house metrology laboratory is equipped with extensive inspection equipment including multiple Zeiss and Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM’s) equipped with fixed and articulating heads, active and normal scanning, laser scanning, and a rotary table.SAVIT has both Calypso (Zeiss) and PC-DMIS (Hexagon) inspection software for offline and online programming of components which provides ultimate compatibility and flexibility with our customer and supplier base.SAVIT also has two high precision “Smart Scope” Video Metrology Systems produced by OGP.

MILLING & TURNING

SAVIT has state-of-the-art machinery for milling and turning. Our systems have three linear degrees of freedom allowing for free movement around the X, Y, and Z axes while the workpiece remains stationary during our Milling processes. This limited dimensional operation slows down speed of operation allowing us to use for prototyping and smaller production runs. The requested shape of prototypes can also be achieved through the removal of material, during our turning process and subtractive machining methods.

Computer Aided Design & Modeling

At SAVIT, engineers are working every day on developing new designs, as well as enhancing old ones. We use CREO as well as other high-level modeling systems that are used by our subject matter experts in order to push the limits of engineering and prototyping.
